About Us
Cultivating Curious Minds
Tucked into a garden of fruit trees in Umalas, minutes from Canggu, Caterpillar is a small school by choice. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, seen and free to explore. With a maximum of 15 children and 2 teachers in every class, each child is known by name, by interest and by heart.
Imagine a school where your child runs barefoot on the grass in the morning, reads under the mango trees before lunch, and comes home glowing with stories. At Caterpillar, childhood is never rushed. Every child is known by name, by heart and by their gifts, in small classes of no more than 15 children with 2 teachers. Here, children learn to love learning, and to love who they are.

Nature Play
Our 3,500 m² garden campus is our biggest classroom. Children climb, dig, plant, build and explore under the trees every single day. Nature teaches patience, courage and wonder, and gives every child room to breathe, move and grow.
Swimming and Music Classes
Swimming and music are woven into every week, not sold as extras. Together with healthy snacks and a vegetarian lunch, they are included in our fees, so every child builds physical confidence, rhythm and a love for the arts as part of daily school life.
Outstanding Curriculum
Our curriculum brings together four traditions: Finland's early childhood model, Montessori, the British National Curriculum with Pearson, and Bali's Tri Hita Karana. The result is a well-rounded, globally relevant foundation, with strong English, maths and phonics and a deep respect for childhood.
Mindful Hearts
Every day begins and ends with a moment of stillness. Children breathe, notice how they feel and share what they are grateful for. Rooted in Bali's Tri Hita Karana, they learn to care for themselves, for each other and for the world around them.

When a child feels safe and seen, everything else follows. Our teachers take time to know each child deeply: what lights them up, what worries them, what makes them laugh. We celebrate every small step, so children grow confident in who they are and joyful about who they are becoming.
